Il progetto si compone di due iniziative: - una certificazione di competenza in didattica della lingua italiana a stranieri; • una collana di testi, “La DITALS risponde”, pensata per “rispondere” ai dubbi e alle domande, di carattere sia scientifico che pratico, di tutti coloro che operano nel settore dell’insegnamento dell’italiano a stranieri, con particolare attenzione a chi intende sostenere l’esame di Certificazione DITALS. L’Università per Stranieri di Siena rilascia sin dal 1994 la certificazione DITALS, una certificazione volta ad attestare una competenza in didattica dell’italiano a stranieri e a garantire così, anche al di fuori di un percorso istituzionale, una omologazione dei requisiti e delle competenze necessarie per svolgere al meglio tale attività. La collana “La DITALS risponde” contiene saggi di carattere scientifico e pratico, bibliografie mirate e documentate: i numerosi insegnanti o aspiranti insegnanti di italiano a stranieri, gli operatori del settore (formatori, autori di testi, presidi, esaminatori, amministratori) e gli studenti, vi possono trovare una prima risposta alle loro necessità.

The project is organized into two parts: a Certification of Competence in Teaching Methodology for Italian as a Foreign Language, and a series of books, «La DITALS risponde” (“DITALS answers”), which intends to respond to scientific and practical doubts and questions of teachers of Italian language to foreigners, with particular attention to those who intend to take the DITALS Certification Exam. Since 1994 the University for Foreigners of Siena (“University for Foreigners of Siena”) has issued the DITALS Certification to certify a didactic competence in teaching Italian language to foreigners and to thereby guarantee, without a formal institutional route, the skills necessary to develop such activity in an optimal way. The series “La DITALS risponde” contains both scientific articles and case studies, as well as targeted and documented bibliographies. Teachers (and future teachers) of Italian language to foreigners and all the operators of the field of Italian language for foreigners (teacher trainers, staff, authors of texts, examiners, administrators, principals, directors, etc.) can thus find a first answer to their necessities. “La DITALS risponde” is an innovative tool which comes to respond to the requirements of a wide public of teachers and specialists in teaching Italian language to foreigners, a strategic sector, important from a cultural, social, political and economical point of view, both in Italy and abroad.
