sintesi italiano

On the phone”, “Human body”). L’impostazione multimediale del progetto consente di scaricare audio ed eventuali video anche nella modalità podcast, che permette di fruire dei contenuti pubblicati su dispositivi portatili.

sintesi inglese

“English by a click” is a multimedia guide to reading selected foreign press articles, aimed at anyone wishing to improve his/her English online, by simply connecting to the Italian Police website (www.poliziadistato.it ). As it is mainly projected for police officers, we choose selected articles relevant to their professional interests. It can also be used by the general public, since it is published on the website homepage, in the section “All’interno” (http://www.poliziadistato.it/pds/ps/consigli/e-learning/index.htm). “English by a click” can also be viewed on “DoppiaVela”, i.e. the Italian police intranet that police officers can access directly from their workstation. The project consists of texts which can be read, listened to and understood with the assistance of notes and comments by experts and the pronunciation of native speakers. In addition to terminological and lexicological analyses and tips on cultural aspects, learners will find notes on language use and word collocations, grammar rules, idiomatic expressions, and curious facts. The readers’ attention is also drawn to differences in spelling, pronunciation and meaning between American English and British English. Comments are displayed by clicking on the underlined words; by doubleclicking on the symbol of a loudspeaker users can hear the pronunciation of particularly difficult words. Comprehension of the texts is checked through exercises with hidden answers which only become visible when the user decides to click on them. Comments are not only displayed by clicking on underlined words, but are also listed at the end of the article, to give readers a chance to print them. English articles on subjects of interest for police officers (such as cyberbullies, frauds by means of credit cards, stolen works of art, air security, etc.) alternate with special issues, some of them focusing on making learning fun (through riddles, crosswords, jokes, recipes, curious facts, etc), glossaries (on human body, nationality adjectives), grammar notes (on reflexive verbs, duration form), and cards giving hints on practical situations (“On the phone”). Moreover, the project multimedia approach allows users to download any audio and video files on podcast, giving them the possibility to enjoy published contents on portable devices.
