sintesi italiano

sintesi inglese

The project started from the following considerations: 1. all over Europe, deaf people regularly attend vocational and requalification training courses: 2. performing a secretary tasks in a firm context is one of the most popular employment chance open to deaf citizens; 3. experiences and researches carried out so far, show that vocational training delivered to deaf learners is not effective especially in some employment areas. Among the others competences , foreign languages skills are not enough developed. These skills are important to enter the labour market and to carry out the secretary tasks to which many deaf people are oriented. The actions carried out by the DEAL project are meant to significantly operate in this framework, through the introduction of educational tools based on e-learning strategies, focusing on the needs and the specific abilities of deaf students. We have chosen e-learning based strategies for their specific potentialities in the training of deaf people: the new information and communication technologies seem to be the most appropriate tools as they mostly operate through the visual modality , that is the main channel used by deaf learners. In our e-learning based approach, we enhanced the methodological strategies and educational techniques that allow the action upon those critical features of language learning indicated by the research already carried out on this topic. Through the integration of the National Sign Languages as a basis for education,we have created a didactic model, procedures and materials with the main goal of developing and reinforcing deaf students competences in L2 at lexical and syntactic levels. The project has produced and is going to disseminate to all interested institutions all over Europe, learning tools, guidebooks for their correct use, and multimedia and educational support materials meant to deliver distance training activities for teaching/learning three European languages (German, Italian and Spanish) to deaf students. These will be devised with specific reference to the receptive and productive dimensions of the written language, in the perspective of vocational training devoted to firm secretary tasks . The selection of the cultural elements involved and the general organisation of the proposed linguistic activities based on the specific potentialities of information technology tools devised and adopted (e-learning platform and videoconferencing system) are aimed at the promotion of professional skills in a transnational perspective. Thanks to the results of this project, the organisations in each country partner can deliver distance language training courses for deaf students who are involved in courses for being employed in firms and perform secretary tasks. The perspective is to export and expand this methodology to all the European Union countries and languages. The products realized by DEAL have started a strategic action for deaf students and adults thanks to a transnational e-learning based training offer characterized by the unification of curricula, the management and monitoring transnational check of teaching/learning processes through the cross evaluation of results. The partnership has started a systematic promotion and dissemination of the results of the project through a series of advertising actions.
