Il progetto presentato dalla scuola di lingue English on line, avvalendosi delle competenze linguistiche dei docenti e delle competenze informatiche nel campo della grafica o di Internet, coglie la forte esigenza sentita dai ragazzi di far parte della società utilizzandone tutte le risorse e l’obiettivo, ancora lontano ma sentito, del loro futuro inserimento nel mondo del lavoro. Il progetto sfrutta la creatività dei giovani allievi e la loro capacità di lavorare in gruppo per dar vita a una “virtual classroom”, che vede allievi appartenenti a vari paesi e realtà scambiarsi esperienze e conoscenze. Trieste, da sempre, ha sviluppato una fitta rete di attività orientate allo scambio con l’estero in cui trova impiego la maggior parte della popolazione locale attiva, a cui è richiesta un’adeguata conoscenza delle lingue straniere affiancata dall’utilizzo della tecnologia avanzata oggi a disposizione. L’idea di avere un’utenza molto giovane, come target del progetto, consente di far sviluppare meglio e di più la creatività e le competenze, di stimolare la motivazione e, allo stesso tempo, di fornire delle conoscenze che potrebbero, in un futuro, costituire un campo di qualificazione professionale avanzata.

Trieste, for the second subsequent year, has presented a project which has been awarded the European Label: Il PC, l’Inglese e … i Bambini (PC, English and … Children). Based not only on teachers’ linguistic competences but also on teachers’ competences in the field of graphics or Internet, the project has understood the strong children’s need to be part of the society, using all its resources and the perception of the objective, even if still far to be achieved, of their future inclusion in the work world. It is inspired from the creativeness of young pupils and from their ability to work in a team, thus giving life to a “virtual classroom”, with pupils from different countries exchanging experiences and knowledge. The knowledge acquired also by using tools such as Web Cam or Scanner, implementing graphic, animation and authoring skills, integrates the language learning with a first step toward a possible specialization and profession and, at the same time, strengthens the link among pupils from different countries and realities.
